Just remember the following harmful ingredients: ethyl alcohol, ammonia, methyl chloride, acetone, and toluene.
Such harmful chemicals can cause side reaction to the LCD screen. For economic and practical reason, a simple soft cloth moist with water can do the job well. Do the cleaning as gently as possible. Make sure that the LCD monitor has been turned off and be left to adjust to room temperature before cleaning it. For oily residues, use the right LCD cleaner to remove all the unwanted traces.
It is not advisable to use substitutes like window cleaner for LCD screens. Use only a nice soft cloth and avoid paper-based wiping materials. It takes a little prevention to solve cleaning issues with LCD screens. It means the equipment has to be kept in a dry and enclosed storage free from dust. A lot of common sense can be applied, but still remember that LCD screens can't be compared to ordinary glass.
